Re-Worn FAQs

Your pre-loved Assembly Label items can be dropped off to any of our stores or sent via post — just follow the steps in our easy online contribution process to create your free shipping label. At this stage, customers in New Zealand can contribute pre-loved items in store but are not able to contribute through the complimentary online process.

We accept all pre-owned Assembly Label garments, no matter what condition they’re in. If they are in a suitable condition, they’ll become part of a future Re-Worn capsule collection. Items deemed unsuitable will be responsibly recycled by our Australian-owned recycling partner.

Pre-owned Assembly Label items can be brought in to any of our retail stores in Australia and New Zealand. Our store staff will be able to assist you. For customers in Australia who cannot drop off their items in person, we accept contributions via post. Create your free shipping label here. This online process is currently not available in New Zealand.

Yes! We believe that circular services like Re-Worn are the future and we want to encourage customers to embrace circular practices. As an incentive, you’ll receive 20% off your next Assembly Label purchase when you contribute to Re-Worn. A 20% discount code will be generated when we receive your contribution and it will be valid for 90 days. Please note, the 20% off incentive is awarded per contribution made, and not per contributed item. Our greatest incentive is to support a circular economy.

If you are bringing your pre-loved items in store, you will receive your 20% discount code via email at the time of your contribution. Items contributed via post will arrive at our warehouse and be inspected by our team, who will then issue your 20% discount code via email within 5 business days. This discount code can be used online or in any of our stores and is valid for 90 days.

All items purchased from the Re-Worn collection are final sale items. They will not be able to be returned for a refund, credit note or exchange unless deemed faulty. If you no longer want your Re-Worn collection item, it can be re-contributed through the Re-Worn take-back service to extend its life.

Customers in New Zealand can drop off pre-loved Assembly Label items to our Newmarket store. Unfortunately at this stage if you live outside Australia and wish to make a contribution via post, we do not currently cover the cost of shipping and cannot provide a free shipping label.

Yes! We want Assembly Label clothes to get as much wear as possible. That’s why we offer a repair service through all our retail stores. Should one of your Assembly Label garments lose a button, have a loose thread or a pulled seam, we will happily have it professionally mended, free of charge. For advice on how to best care for and extend the life of your Assembly Label clothing, please read our Fabric Care Guides.

All Assembly Label items contributed to Re-Worn are laundered and, if necessary repaired in Sydney, Australia.

All sales made from our Re-Worn collections cover the cost of providing this circular service. Some of those costs include freight, dry cleaning, repairs and wages. At the time of writing, Re-Worn is not a profitable part of our business and all sales from Re-Worn go back into providing this service. We launched this service because we envision a future in which circular practices are the norm.

Extending the life of your clothing starts with simple everyday practices. These include following care instructions when washing your clothes to keep them in premium condition, repairing minor flaws like loose buttons, donating pieces you no longer wear to charity shops, reselling items you no longer use and contributing to circular services, like Re-Worn.
